The Compassion of Christ in You (Matthew 14:13-21)

It seems that our nation is more divided than ever. It has become second nature to vilify those who are different from us or in disagreement with us. But in Sunday's passage recording Jesus' feeding of the five thousand, we see the Lord show a supernatural compassion for an undeserving people. And one group of the undeserving is the disciples themselves! We'll learn how we're not just objects of Christ's compassion but also instruments of it, too, for others.

Just Judge, Humble Savior (Matthew 11:20-30)

In this Sunday's passage, we hear perhaps Jesus' harshest condemnation and his most compassionate invitation--set right next to each other. In light of the people's rejection of Christ's kingdom, we'll learn the primary factor that distinguishes those who resist Christ and those who find rest in Christ.

Longing for Justice (Isaiah 9:7b)

One of the things our Creator has instilled in each of us is a longing for justice-- the desire to be treated fairly, and to know that systems are in place to protect us. But if we look around, we see that there is injustice everywhere. People are abusing their positions of power and authority, cheating and stealing from each other, and getting away with it.
Where is God in all of this?

This Sunday we'll look not only at Isaiah 9, but all over the Bible to see what God has to say about justice, and what he has promised to us with the coming of the Messiah Jesus Christ.

Serving Our City (Jeremiah 29:1-14)

Why did the Lord bring you to Boston? Maybe you came here for school or for work or because your family is here. Yet God's word is clear that he didn't bring us here just to take from the city but also to contribute to it. This morning, we'll look at God's heart for Boston and how we should play a role in doing justice for the vulnerable here.
